(Detailed End-of-Life scenarios)

Introduction

By means of this tool you can calculate End-of-Life scenarios for your products. To do this it is important to be able to separate the product in fractions as required by the legislation as well as according to what is economically sensible.

The basis for the tool in terms of parameters like rate of recycling of materials for different waste fractions, cost for disassembly, value of materials etc. have been supplied by H. J. Hansen Elektromiljø A/S.

Among other key figures it is possible to calculate to what extent a given product will meet the targets set up in Article 7 in the WEEE directive in terms of:

• Recycling Rate (by weight) as defined in WEEE, Article 3, (e)
  
• Recovery Rate as defined in WEEE, Article 3, (f)
  

You need a weighing machine to be able to weigh the fractions. A kitchen thing with intervals of 1 g will usually do the job.
